Rebecca Swales
Fully Trained Level 4 Sports Therapist
BSc in Sports Performance from University of Bath
My Background
Before becoming a sports therapist I spent the majority of my time in a swimming pool as an elite swimmer. I competed in many major competitions around the UK and internationally, whilst training over 26 hours per week in the pool and in the gym. Naturally, being a high performing athlete, I’m absolutely no stranger to sports-related injury and fatigue, and so I became extremely well acquainted with the physiotherapy and massage room.
I subsequently suffered from a significant injury which ended my swimming career, but in turn, fired the enthusiasm and passion to healing and treating people who may be experiencing pain due to injury or the stress of our society.
My tREATMENTS
I take a well-rounded and thorough approach to my treatments. By listening to your symptoms and carrying out an assessment on your areas of concern, I can more specifically and effectively find and treat the root cause of your pain with a combination of massage techniques, biomechanics and rehabilitation.
My treatments are for everyone from all walks of life. Whether it’s injury rehabilitation from a recent (or long term) sporting injury, persisting niggles, aches and pains, lack of mobility or strength, or the stress from a busy lifestyle, massage therapy can help. All of these factors have a major impact on your soft and connecting tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia), which in turn affects your body when you come to move or exercise.
I supply my clients with the best possible care to help manage or resolve the issue with the addition of personalised rehabilitation exercises and stretching programmes to ensure successful and prolonged results.
